Mecklenburg's Garden

Mecklenburg Gardens is a historic restaurant located in the Corryville neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, established in the mid-19th century. Originally built as a house around 1865, it transformed into a restaurant by 1870, becoming a popular German beer garden under the ownership of Louis Mecklenburg. The venue thrived during a time of significant German immigration to Cincinnati, featuring a charming outdoor garden adorned with grapevines. Despite challenges such as Prohibition, when it operated as a speakeasy, Mecklenburg Gardens has remained a beloved dining destination, reopening in 1996 after several closures. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, offering visitors a unique blend of history and culinary experience in a picturesque setting.
