Unisphere (1964 World's Fair)

The Unisphere is a 140-foot stainless steel globe designed by Gilmore D. Clarke for the 1964–65 New York World's Fair and installed in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park. Commissioned as the fair's symbol, the Unisphere sits in the park's former World's Fair site and is surrounded by a reflecting pool and fountains. It remains an iconic landmark of Queens and is maintained as part of the park's historic landscape.
