Pelham Bay area - Battle of Pell's Point (Pelham)

The Battle of Pell's Point, fought on October 18, 1776, took place on land that is now within Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum and surrounding parkland preserve colonial-era buildings and landscape associated with the period. Local interpretation at Bartow-Pell and Pelham Bay Park references the militia actions that delayed the British advance during that engagement.
