Belmont Mansion - antebellum Italianate estate of Adelicia Acklen

Belmont Mansion at 1900 Belmont Blvd was completed in 1853 for Adelicia Acklen and is noted for its Italianate architectural style and elaborate mid-19th-century design. The mansion retains original and period furnishings and is one of the largest surviving antebellum homes in Nashville, now interpreted as a historic house museum by Belmont University. Its scale, decoration, and documented association with Acklen make it an uncommon surviving example of antebellum urban wealth in the city.
