Jonas Salisbury House (62 Walnut Park)

The Jonas Salisbury House, located at 62 Walnut Park in Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame mansion built around 1847. It is the last remaining example of the four temple-front mansions originally constructed in the Newton Corner area. This house showcases classic Greek Revival architectural features, including a flushboarded facade, corner pilasters, and a grand entrance with pilasters beneath a pediment. The property also includes a carriage house from the same period. Notably, Jonas Salisbury was a prominent property owner in the area, and the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
