Leyden House

The Leyden House, built between 1858 and 1859, was a significant historic home in Atlanta, Georgia, known for its grand Greek Revival architecture featuring Ionic columns. It served as the residence of Austin Leyden, a co-founder of the Atlanta Machine Works, and was notably used as headquarters by General George H. Thomas during the Civil War. The house was demolished in 1913 to make way for commercial development, with remnants of its columns preserved at the Old Woodberry School Building. Today, the site is home to the 180 Peachtree Building, which continues to serve the community.
