Hathaway Tenement

The Hathaway Tenement, located in North Adams, Massachusetts, is a historic two-story wood-frame structure built around 1850. It features six rowhouses with a vernacular Greek Revival style, characterized by gabled roofs and clapboard exteriors. This tenement is a rare example of worker housing from the early industrial period of North Adams, a time when the area saw significant development due to the establishment of mills along the Hoosac River. Named after mill proprietor Nathaniel Hathaway, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and offers a glimpse into the living conditions of workers during the industrial boom.
