Early personal computer added to a national museum (Apple-1)

The Smithsonian National Museum of American History added an Apple-1 computer to its collection and placed it on public display, recognizing the Apple-1 as one of the earliest commercially produced personal computers developed by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in 1976. The museum acquired an Apple-1 in the 2010s and exhibited it as part of computing and consumer electronics history. The artifact is cataloged in the museum’s collection and shown at its Constitution Avenue location on the National Mall.
