St. Charles Borromeo's Church (Dover Plains, New York)

The Church of St. Charles Borromeo, established in 1866, is a historic Roman Catholic parish located in Dover Plains, New York. Originally a mission of Immaculate Conception Parish, it became a parish in 1936. The church has a rich history, having served as a spiritual hub for the Harlem Valley and was built under the guidance of its first resident priest, Father Charles Slevin. In 2018, it merged with St. John the Evangelist Church, creating a new parish while maintaining individual services. The church is also home to the Loaves & Fishes ministry, which supports the local community through food assistance and companionship programs, making it a vital part of the area's social fabric.
