Ford Piquette Avenue Plant (early Ford manufacturing site)

Built in 1904–1905 for the Ford Motor Company, the Piquette Avenue Plant is where Henry Ford and his engineers developed and produced early Ford models and worked on the development and early prototypes of the Model T. The factory housed production and engineering that helped establish Ford as a major automobile manufacturer before mass production moved to Highland Park. The building is preserved as a museum displaying early Ford vehicles and exhibits on the company's formative years and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
