Boothstown Mines Rescue Station

The Boothstown Mines Rescue Station, opened in November 1933, served the collieries of the Lancashire and Cheshire Coal Owners and is a Grade II listed building located in Boothstown, Greater Manchester. Designed by the architectural firm Bradshaw, Gass and Hope, the station featured a two-storey structure with essential facilities such as a garage, shower rooms, and training galleries that simulated underground conditions for emergency preparedness. The site also housed the permanent staff and included recreational areas. After its closure, the station has been repurposed for residential use, making it a unique historical site for visitors interested in mining history and architecture.
