Henry Gane House

The Henry Gane House, located at 121 Adena Road in Newton, Massachusetts, is a remarkable example of Second Empire architecture, built around the 1860s. Notable for its intricate woodwork, including dentil moulding and elaborate window hoods, the house features a charming wraparound porch. Originally constructed for Boston merchant Henry Gane on a sprawling 16-acre estate, the property was later subdivided, leading to the development of Northgate Park. After World War I, the house was relocated to its current site. It was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers alike.
