Kermit Gosnell convictions at Women's Medical Society

Kermit Gosnell operated the Women’s Medical Society abortion clinic at 3801 Lancaster Avenue. In 2013 he was convicted in Philadelphia Municipal Court of three counts of first-degree murder for killing infants born alive and of third-degree murder in the 2009 death of patient Karnamaya Mongar; he was sentenced to life in prison. The clinic was raided in 2010 during an investigation that led to federal and state scrutiny of the facility's practices and licensing.
