Starkweather School

Starkweather School, located in Plymouth, Michigan, is a historic educational building listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2016. Designed by the architectural firm Malcomson and Higginbotham, it opened in 1927 and served as a neighborhood school for decades before being converted into an adult education center. The school features a striking two-story I-plan structure with red/brown brick and limestone trim, characterized by its symmetrical facade and prominent bay windows. Although it closed in 2013, plans are underway to transform the building into 'Schoolhouse Lofts of Plymouth,' preserving its historical significance while adapting it for modern use.
