Palais de Glace

The Palais de Glace is a stunning Belle Époque building located in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Inaugurated in 1911, it originally served as an ice skating rink and social club, designed with a central circular rink surrounded by elegant boxes for spectators. As ice skating waned in popularity, the venue transformed into a prestigious dance hall that played a significant role in the rise of tango, hosting many renowned orchestras and dancers. Over the years, it has also served as an art exhibition space, housing the National Office of Fine Arts and the annual Salón Nacional de Bellas Artes. The building, which features a striking domed roof and large skylight, was declared a National Historic Monument in 2004 and continues to be a vibrant cultural hub for art exhibitions and musical events.
