Merchant's House Museum

The Seabury Tredwell House on East 4th Street is one of the best-preserved 19th-century family homes in Manhattan and now operates as the Merchant's House Museum interpreting domestic life of that period. The building retains original architectural details and many family-owned furnishings and artifacts. It was saved from demolition in the 20th century and continues to serve as a historic house museum open to the public.
