Mexican secularization of Mission San Diego de Alcalá

Under Mexican secularization policies enacted in the 1830s, Mission San Diego de Alcalá was secularized and its lands and property were removed from Franciscan control and redistributed, a process documented in Mexican-era government and mission records. The mission buildings fell into disrepair after secularization and later underwent restoration efforts in the 19th and 20th centuries.
