Reinterment from Seattle's original City Cemetery during Denny Regrade

During late 19th and early 20th century regrading and redevelopment (including the Denny Regrade), human remains and grave markers were exhumed from Seattle's original City Cemetery and reinterred at Lake View Cemetery and other cemeteries. Historical city records and contemporary newspaper accounts document transfers of burials from the old cemetery. Some sources note that not all remains were removed during regrading and construction.
