Painted Ladies at Alamo Square (Victorian row)

The row of Victorian houses across from Alamo Square, commonly called the Painted Ladies, are notable examples of late-19th-century Victorian architecture in San Francisco. The colorful paint schemes emphasize their ornamental details; the houses at the corner of Steiner Street and Alamo Square Park have been photographed and reproduced widely. The Alamo Square Painted Ladies are prominently featured in the opening credits of the television show Full House.
