Gayle Village Institute

Gayle Village Institute, located in the picturesque village of Gayle in North Yorkshire, England, is a historic building originally constructed as a chapel around 1755. Built by James Allen and the Batty brothers, followers of Benjamin Ingham, it later became associated with the Sandemanians. After serving as a place of worship until approximately 1906, the building was repurposed into the village institute. Notably, it was designated as a grade II listed building in 1952, highlighting its architectural and historical significance. The structure features a simple stone construction with a stone slate roof, a single storey, and three bays, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
