Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption (St. Mary's Cathedral)

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, commonly called St. Mary's Cathedral, was completed in 1971 and is a notable example of modernist ecclesiastical architecture in San Francisco. Its distinctive saddle-shaped concrete roof and continuous glass façade create a spacious cruciform interior used for diocesan liturgies and civic events. The cathedral serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco.
