Bank of São Paulo Building

The Bank of São Paulo Building, located in the heart of São Paulo at Praça Antônio Prado and Rua 15 de Novembro, is a significant historical and architectural monument. Officially listed in 2003, this art deco masterpiece was constructed between 1935 and 1938 by architect Álvaro de Arruda Botelho. Originally the headquarters of the Banco de São Paulo, founded by the Almeida Prado family, the building showcases stunning geometric designs, iron and marble elements, and intricate mosaic flooring. Since its acquisition by Banespa in 1973, it has served as the headquarters for the State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in São Paulo's rich architectural heritage.
