Walsh Family Hall of Architecture

The Walsh Family Hall of Architecture, located at the University of Notre Dame, is a striking example of New Classical architecture, completed in 2019. Designed by architect John Simpson, the building features a grand Hall of Casts, a stoa, and a central tower, all inspired by classical Greek elements. It serves as the new home for the Notre Dame School of Architecture, offering modern facilities for students and housing new graduate programs. The building is recognized for its energy-efficient design and has received multiple architectural awards. Visitors can admire the impressive courtyard, which includes a 14 ft sculpture of the Renaissance architect Leon Battista Alberti, symbolizing the school's commitment to the principles of balance and harmony in urban design.
