1966 Texas Western (UTEP) NCAA championship and Don Haskins

Texas Western College, now the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), fielded the 1966 men's basketball team that won the NCAA championship under coach Don Haskins using a starting lineup of African-American players; the victory is widely cited for its impact on racial integration in college basketball. Don Haskins coached the program for decades and is honored on the UTEP campus, including the Don Haskins Center which bears his name.
