Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park preserves the site of the first permanent nonnative settlement in the Las Vegas Valley, established by Mormon missionaries in 1855. The park includes the remains of the adobe fort and interpretive displays about early settlement, Native American presence and regional history. It is operated as a Nevada State Historic Park and is located in downtown Las Vegas near other historic sites. The site is interpreted for visitors through exhibits and occasional programs.
