Pyramid redevelopment with indoor cypress exhibit and observation elevator

The Memphis Pyramid was redeveloped into the Bass Pro Shops complex and Big Cypress Lodge, an adaptive reuse installation that preserved the pyramid exterior while installing an indoor cypress swamp exhibit, retail space, restaurants, and a glass elevator that travels to an observation deck overlooking the Mississippi River. The conversion opened the Pyramid to visitors as a mixed-use destination and preserved the landmark's distinctive form. The site is documented in city redevelopment and tourism materials.
