Survivor Tree

The Survivor Tree is an American elm that stood on the site of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and survived the 1995 bombing despite severe damage. The tree was rehabilitated and has since become a central living symbol of resilience at the Oklahoma City National Memorial; it is a focal point for annual commemorations. Saplings propagated from the Survivor Tree have been distributed and planted at other memorial sites as part of outreach and remembrance efforts.
