The University of Texas at Austin campus contains an extensive network of underground utility and steam tunnels that distribute steam, chilled water, electrical and communication lines between buildings. These tunnels date to early-to-mid 20th century campus infrastructure expansions and remain in active use for campus mechanical systems.
