Pueblo Grande Museum and Hohokam platform mound

Pueblo Grande Museum & Archaeological Park preserves a Hohokam archaeological site that includes a platform mound, ball court, and residential areas dating from about 450 to 1450 CE. The museum at the site interprets Hohokam lifeways and ceremonial practices and displays artifacts, and local storytelling and museum materials sometimes reference Hohokam myths and oral traditions connected to the site. Scholars continue to study the site, and some aspects of its ceremonial interpretation are the subject of academic debate. The park is a documented archaeological and interpretive location within Phoenix.
