Detroit Institute of Arts (home of Rivera's Detroit Industry Murals)

The Detroit Institute of Arts houses Diego Rivera's Detroit Industry Murals, a full-scale mural cycle painted in 1932–1933 and commissioned by Edsel Ford that depicts Detroit's automotive industry and labor. The murals occupy a central court in the museum and are widely regarded as among Rivera's most important works in the United States. The DIA building and collection are major cultural and historic landmarks in Detroit.
