Merville House

Merville House, an 18th-century Georgian building located in Belfast, Northern Ireland, was constructed in 1795 by banker John Brown as part of a private estate. It served as a meeting place for local councils from 1952 to 1958 and is now the centerpiece of Merville Garden Village, a French-style housing development established in the late 1940s. The estate has historical ties to notable families, with rooms named after figures like Sir Arthur Chichester and Sir Edward Coey. Following a £1.2 million renovation completed in 2006, Merville House plays a vital role in the Newtownabbey community and is recognized for its unique architectural and landscape design, having been awarded Conservation Area status in 1995.
