Casón del Buen Retiro

The Casón del Buen Retiro is a historic building in Madrid, originally constructed as a ballroom in the 17th century. It is part of the Museo del Prado complex and underwent significant restoration, reopening in 2007 as a study center and library. The building features Luca Giordano's renowned fresco, The Allegory of the Golden Fleece, and has housed important artworks, including Picasso's Guernica from 1981 to 1992. Today, it serves as a resource for researchers and students, boasting a library with around 70,000 books, and is located near the scenic Retiro Park.
