Ford Piquette Avenue Plant - Birthplace of the Model T

The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant housed Ford Motor Company's early manufacturing and engineering operations beginning in 1904. It is where the Model T was designed and where early Ford prototypes and production models were built. Many early Ford engineers and designers worked at Piquette during the years when Ford transitioned from small-scale to larger-scale automobile production. The building is preserved as the Piquette Avenue Plant museum documenting these early automotive developments.
