California Academy of Sciences modern rebuild

The California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park reopened in 2008 after a rebuilding designed by architect Renzo Piano. The facility houses an aquarium, the Morrison Planetarium, a natural history museum, and a four-story rainforest exhibit under one roof. The building features a 2.5-acre living roof and improved seismic and sustainability systems as part of its redesign.
