Oklahoma City National Memorial (site architecture)

The Oklahoma City National Memorial occupies the site of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and features an outdoor commemorative design including the Gate of Time, the Field of Empty Chairs, and a Reflecting Pool. The memorial's layout and sculptural elements were developed as a landscape-architecture response to the 1995 bombing and opened to the public in 2000. The Survivor Tree, an American elm that survived the blast, is incorporated into the memorial's design and interpretation.
