HMCS Stone Frigate

HMCS Stone Frigate is a historic building located at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario. Originally constructed between 1819 and 1824 as a naval storehouse for the British fleet, it was repurposed in 1876 to serve as a dormitory and classrooms for the college. The building has a rich history, having functioned as a barracks during the Rebellion of 1837 and later as a storehouse. Known affectionately as 'The Boat', it houses 1 Squadron, which refers to itself as the Stone Frigate Military Academy. After extensive renovations completed in 2004, the Stone Frigate now stands as a testament to Canadian military heritage and is recognized on the Registry of Historic Places of Canada, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers alike.
