Prehistoric Native American sites at Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge

The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge preserves archaeological sites and artifacts documenting Native American habitation and use of the Trinity River floodplain from prehistoric through historic periods. Archaeological investigations on refuge land have identified campsites and material remains indicating repeated seasonal use by Native peoples. The refuge interprets these resources for visitors through trails, signage, and educational programs. The site is managed by the City of Fort Worth as a large urban natural and cultural resource.
