African Meeting House

Built in 1806 on Beacon Hill, the African Meeting House is the oldest surviving African American church building in the United States. It functioned as a center for worship, education, and abolitionist organizing for Boston's Black community in the 19th century. The building is part of the Boston African American National Historic Site and now operates as a museum and historic site.
