Rocky Steps and the Rocky statue

The exterior steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art were featured in the 1976 film Rocky and have since been popularly called the "Rocky Steps." A bronze statue of the film's fictional character Rocky Balboa was installed near the museum after the film and remains a frequent photo spot and local tradition for visitors and runners. The association with the movie has produced a long-standing local ritual of running the steps to replicate the film's finale.
