Museum at Eldridge Street (Eldridge Street Synagogue)

The Eldridge Street Synagogue, built in 1887 and restored as the Museum at Eldridge Street, preserves a richly decorated late-19th-century sanctuary and interprets immigrant Jewish life on the Lower East Side. The museum offers guided tours, exhibitions, and concerts that explore the building's architecture, liturgical art, and the history of the congregation. Its restoration returned extensive painted decoration, stained-glass windows, and woodwork to public view within a functioning historic house of worship and museum.
