The Roxie Theater (historic independent cinema)

The Roxie Theater, at 3117 16th Street in the Mission District, is one of San Francisco’s oldest continuously operating movie theaters and has long been a venue for independent, foreign, and repertory film programming. The nonprofit venue screens new independent films, revivals, and hosts community and film-festival events. The Roxie also runs education and audience-development programs focused on independent cinema.
