Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive Sculptures

Pioneer Plaza features a large bronze installation depicting a 19th-century cattle drive composed of 49 bronze longhorn steers and three bronze trail riders. The sculptures were created by artist Robert Summers and were dedicated in 1994 as a public-art centerpiece of the downtown plaza. The installation is set on a man-made stream and landscaping intended to evoke the Red River crossing used by cattle drivers into Dallas.
