Fountain County Clerk's Building

The Fountain County Clerk's Building, also known as the Lew Wallace Law Office, is a historic site in Covington, Indiana, built in 1842. This one-story, Federal style red brick building features a charming front porch with decorative scrollwork and is set on a stone foundation. It served as the county clerk's office until 1859 and was home to the law office of notable figure Lew Wallace from 1849 to 1853. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
