Trobaugh-Good House

The Trobaugh-Good House, located in the Rock Springs Center for Environmental Discovery near Decatur, Illinois, is a historic structure built between 1847 and 1853. As one of the few surviving buildings from the Ward Settlement, it reflects the early migration patterns of settlers from the Upland South. Originally a one-room log pen house, it underwent two significant additions in the 1850s, enhancing its size and functionality. The house was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, making it a noteworthy site for tourists and researchers interested in early American settlement history.
