Maclay Mansion

Maclay Mansion, also known as Rosehill Seminary and Gleim Mansion, is a historic house located in Tipton, Missouri, built between 1858 and 1860. This striking 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay L-plan dwelling is notable for its orange-red brick exterior and distinctive architectural features, including a three-bay hip roofed front portico and massive end chimneys. The mansion, measuring approximately 45 by 36 feet, is topped with a gable roof and boasts a wide, bracketed cornice along with a two-story rear gallery. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it a fascinating site for tourists and researchers interested in 19th-century architecture and local history.
