Naukhanda Palace

The Naukhanda Palace, a royal residence of the Nizams, is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. Built in 1616 by Malik Ambar, this historic palace features a grand entrance known as Barkal and has undergone various modifications over the centuries. It originally comprised nine apartments, including five zenanas, public and private audience halls, a mosque, and a throne room, all surrounded by gardens. While much of the palace is in ruins, the throne room still contains the original paraphernalia of the Nizam. Today, the palace is home to the Aurangabad College for Women, offering a glimpse into the region's royal past amidst its educational pursuits.
