Contentment (Ansted, West Virginia)

Contentment, also known as the Colonel George Imboden House, is a historic home in Ansted, Fayette County, West Virginia, built around 1830 and expanded in 1872 by Colonel George W. Imboden, the town's first mayor. The house features original five rooms, a detached kitchen, and later additions including two more rooms and an extended porch. Today, it serves as a museum and headquarters for the Fayette County Historical Society, showcasing the area's rich history. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, making it a significant site for tourists and researchers interested in local heritage.
