Hotel Touraine

Hotel Touraine, located in Boston, Massachusetts, was a prominent residential hotel from 1897 to 1966, designed in the striking Jacobethan architectural style. Its baronial design was inspired by a 16th-century chateau, making it a notable landmark near Boston Common. The hotel hosted a variety of distinguished guests, including explorer Ernest Shackleton and composer George Gershwin, and featured amenities such as dining rooms and a library. It also served as a venue for cultural events, including exhibitions by the Boston Negro Artists Association. After closing in 1966, the building was repurposed into apartments, but its rich history continues to attract interest from tourists and researchers alike.
