Woodville (Milledgeville, Georgia)

Woodville, also known as Westover, is a historic mansion located on a Southern plantation in Milledgeville, Georgia. Established in the late 1810s, the mansion was built in 1819 for John Clark, a former governor of Georgia. Over the years, it has changed hands, including ownership by Congressman Seaton Grantland and later his daughter, Mrs. DuBignon. In the 1920s, Bim Richardson acquired the plantation, which was subsequently sold to Carl Bentley in the 1940s. The house has been recognized for its architectural significance and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in Southern history and architecture.
