Pederson House and Water Tower

The Pederson House and Water Tower, located on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, is a historic landmark that showcases the heritage of the Norwegian Colony established in 1890. Built between 1913-14 for Norwegian immigrants Lars and Karn Pederson, this turn-of-the-century farmhouse was saved from demolition by dedicated alumni after being relocated from its original site. The house has served various roles, including a residence for the Pederson family and housing the university's music department. The water tower, operational until 1960, was renovated in 1986. Visitors can also see a bronze statue of Lars Pederson, commemorating the family's contributions to the area.
